Massachusetts Housing
Partnership Fund
This site describes the first-time home-owner program funded by the state called "Soft Second Loan Program". Under this program, the government subsidizes a portion of the mortgage to allow people to qualify for a home, when they may not meet traditional income guidelines.
 
Citizens' Housing and
Planning Association
of Massachusetts
Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) is the non-profit umbrella organization for affordable housing and community development activities throughout Massachusetts. Established in 1967, CHAPA is the only statewide group which represents all interests in the housing field, including non-profit and for-profit developers, homeowners, tenants, bankers, real estate brokers, property managers, government officials, and others.
 
Housing and Urban
Development (HUD)
HUD is the housing agency of the federal government and offers advice, first-time home buyer programs (some are targeted, such as for police officers or teachers) and properties for sale. This is their home buyer site.
